Heather Sherburn spent 34 years in public education, from the classroom to site leadership to the district office, retiring as an Assistant Superintendent responsible for curriculum, instruction, and the decisions that shape how schools teach. In the four years since, she has worked as an education consultant. Across her career she has trained well over a thousand educators. She holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership.
Along the way she learned that the systems around teachers matter as much as the training we give them. Leaders who remove obstacles, professional learning that respects teachers' time, and tools that actually work on a Tuesday in November. That conviction runs through everything she does now.
Teachers have never resisted learning. They resist learning that feels disconnected from the challenges they are facing today.
Today Heather works on both sides of the education world. She delivers Time To Teach classroom management and student engagement training to schools and districts, coaches administrators from their first year to the superintendency, and advises education technology companies as Chief Academic Officer of SchoolDay Academy, with advisory work for Total School Solutions and Gooru Inc.
She also writes and teaches beyond the training room: published articles on AI and professional learning, webinars on career and technical education, and online PD courses on curriculum adoption and cybersecurity awareness taken by educators across the country.
